CIS Training Program

Due to staffing reductions, CIS is unable to provide regular training sessions and the CIS Training Program has been disbanded.

If you have a technology training need, please contact others in your department for more information on the technology in question, or contact the technology vendor directly. CIS also has many resources available in our Wiki spaces that can be searched. If you are having trouble finding training resources, please contact the CIS HelpDesk and we can help connect you with free and for-fee training materials.

Overview & Purpose

The CIS Training Program exists to spread knowledge across campus about the tools available to them and how they can help in each person's work, as well as showing best practices for use of technology to serve our students in the best ways possible.

Presenters for trainings come from all teams within CIS and we welcome partnerships with other departments that would like to provide technology training on an area of expertise for campus.

The CIS Training Commitee (membership at right) are responsible for developing the list of training topics, securing presenters, scheduling, announcing and hosting the CIS Training offerings. If you have any questions, comments or feedback about the CIS Training Program, please contact the members of the committee.

Training

CIS endeavors to host monthly training sessions. Our hope is to provide the most relevant, timely and applicable information to campus about current and future technologies that impact SPU. See our CIS Training Offerings page for a listing of currently offered trainings, past trainings, and suggested future topics. If you have additional topics to suggest, please contact the CIS Training Committee: !CIS Trainings <cistrainings@spu.edu>
