Faculty and Staff:

There are multiple options for maintaining your documents and files at SPU.  All Faculty and Staff have access to a resource called Datasync, which places their files and folders on secure servers that are backed up and managed by CIS.  This process is automatically setup for you on SPU-managed computers.  By storing all work documents in the Documents folder on an SPU-managed computer, users receive the following features:

  • Access to files and folders on all SPU-managed computers, including Classrooms and Lab Machines
  • Access to files remotely via VPN or Citrix Remote Access when off campus or on a personally owned computer
  • The ability to view Previous Versions on files and folders for up to two weeks prior
    • These files and folders may also be restored in the event of an accidental deletion or corruption

Additionally, there are Department Shares and other resources, such as SharePoint, or OneDrive for Business that allow files and folders to be shared with multiple individuals.


Current students have access to OneDrive for Business as part of Microsoft's Office 365 for Education service.
